Murdoch University is the place where free-thinkers come to succeed.

At Murdoch University in Perth, Australia, we're proud to have more than 22,000 students and 2,000 staff from across 90 different countries with a desire to discover, use their imaginations and ultimately make a difference.
We embrace free thinking and encourage our Murdoch community to share ideas, pool knowledge and find new ways of thinking. Across Australia, we're recognised for excellent teaching, ground-breaking research and our high number of satisfied students.
At Murdoch we have more than 22,000 students and over 2,000 staff, including 2,000 overseas students from around 100 countries studying in Perth and another 8000 studying offshore. That’s more than 25,100 unique stories, backgrounds and ways of thinking that help us to make a difference in the world.
In Western Australia, our Perth campus has a range of facilities including a comprehensive vet hospital (with WA’s only equine operating theatres), engineering pilot plant, a chiropractic clinic, Media Arts centre and more. We also have campuses in Singapore, opposite the National Library in the education hub, and in Dubai where our students use state-of-the-art TV and radio studios, newsrooms and editing suites.
We’re recognised as one of Australia’s leading research institutions, as more industries place their belief and resources into our projects to provide our research candidates and scientists with the opportunity to make amazing discoveries.
Murdoch views the opportunity for its students to take part in some form of work-related experience as an essential form of learning integral to each of our courses. The University’s Work Integrated Learning (WIL) Program seeks to provide an important learning experience for students, while allowing them to demonstrate their graduate skills to employers.

Mandurah campus

Discover a university with all the right connections

In 2003, Murdoch was awarded funding for a University Learning Centre in the Mandurah region.
The University Learning Centre includes an 80-seat video communications room, three 30-seat flexible teaching rooms, one multi-purpose laboratory and offices for technicians, administration and academic staff. Video and electronic communications links have been developed through Rockingham and Kwinana to the Murdoch campus for online access to unit materials and learning resources.
The School is an integral part of the University Learning Centre. The School is renowned for its modern facilities that include a simulation room, realistic hospital wards, areas for students to relax and study in, as well as state-of-the-art audio-visual equipment for teaching purposes. These facilities will give you access to study in a real-life environment under the direction and supervision of technicians, tutors and lecturers. They offer a wealth of clinical, academic and research expertise, as well as ensuring an exceptional learning experience through Murdoch's outstanding learning and teaching resources.
Murdoch's Nursing students upon graduation are well-prepared to register with the Nurses and Midwives Board of Australia as high-quality nursing professionals, across a variety of clinical areas.

Teaching facilities

Murdoch's main campus is 15 km  south of Perth and, at 227 hectares, is the biggest of any Australian university. We also have campuses in Rockingham and the Mandurah region.

So what lurks inside those big, impressive buildings?

Our $3.7 million Law Building has Perth's most modern Moot Court. We try real cases in a real court environment; and the latest in video satellite technology lets us compete with other Law Schools around the world.

Engineering students get real-world experience at Murdoch’s scaled engineering plant. It's the only one of its kind in Perth (and one of the only plants of its kind on any uni campus in the world).

The $1.7 million Media Arts Centre features TV and radio studios, a newsroom, editing suites, digital post production facilities and more.

Agriculture and biotechnology students can learn and discover at the State Agricultural Biotechnology Centre, with access to incredible equipment and facilities for research and development.

The Chiropractic Clinic features 11 consulting rooms and a fully equipped gym. Students work here with Government-registered Chiropractors on real patients.

Murdoch’s veterinary facilities are world famous. We have a working farm, a vet clinic open to the public, a fully equipped Veterinary Hospital (complete with cancer and dermatology clinics), a Pet Emergency Centre and our world class Equine Centre with WA’s only equine operating theatres.

Our new Library Learning Common opened in 2007, providing a "one-stop-shop" for student learning and services, as well as housing our First Year Experience Coordinator who can help you settle into life as a university student.

Add to this impressive list our computer labs, campus-wide wireless networks and superb library, and you can see why Murdoch is the perfect place to begin your voyage of discovery.
