Canada’s overall permanent resident target for 2026 is 380,000.

This is the TOTAL number, not for one category or one program.

The real question is:




Which category will receive how many spots?

1.       Economic Immigration – The Biggest Category with a target for 2026: 239,800

This category is very important for students, workers, and skilled professionals planning PR.

And the category includes:

Federal High Skilled Programs
(Express Entry – CEC, FSW, FST)

Federal Economic Pilots, such as:

    • Caregivers
    • Agri-Food Pilot
    • Community Immigration Pilots
    • Economic Mobility Pathways Pilot

Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP)
